Build a world class higher education pipeline
CUNY 2x Tech - the $20M initiative designed by industry and academic leaders to double the number of City University of New York students graduating with tech bachelors ready to secure and succeed in jobs in NYC’s tech ecosystem – serves students at Hunter College, Lehman College and City College, with plans to expand to three additional campuses this year. Companies can support higher education through the following:
Recruit Summer Interns: Students served through CUNY 2x Tech participate in industry informed courses and a pre-internship training in preparation for summer internships. Recruit quality tech talent from CUNY campuses for your upcoming summer internship.
Host Spring Workshops: Participate in exposure opportunities and industry-led workshops this semester including, but not limited to, supporting open source projects, office tours, panels and mock technical interviews.
Equip students with emerging skills: Join your peers who are teaching key skills as adjuncts through Tech-in-Residence Corps. No advanced education or previous teaching experience required. Learn more about the program and how you can nominate yourself or a peer today.
EXPAND On-ramps for emerging talent
The NYC Tech Talent Pipeline offers a number of resources and supports to companies that support local talent through Associate Engineer models. With a focus on hiring local talent for full time technical roles, Associate Engineer models provide a pathway for companies to surface and cultivate high potential talent through mentorship and technical expertise, while growing their business with local tech talent from across the five boroughs. TTP’s support for these companies include:
NYC Tech Talent Team that works directly with NYC businesses to recruit, source and screen local talent for open roles.
Best Practices and Peer Connection to companies that have implemented Associate Engineer models.
Amplification to highlight participating companies through press, events and other spotlight opportunities.

At the guidance of NYC companies, TTP recruited industry professionals to lead the NYC Tech Talent Recruitment team. With services available at no-cost to NYC companies, the team utilizes an industry-informed process and tool to connect candidates from non-traditional sources to open roles at NYC companies.
