Request for Proposals: Data Analyst Training Program

Four years ago, Mayor Bill de Blasio launched the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline to deliver quality jobs for New Yorkers and quality talent for our city’s businesses.

Since then, TTP has invested more than $10M in partnerships to inspire, equip, and connect New Yorkers across the five boroughs to jobs at leading NYC companies, including Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Viacom, Spotify, and many more.

Today, we’re happy to continue to build on this record of success with the release of a new Request for Proposals for a Data Analyst Training Program, designed together with industry partners to meet a growing demand.

Over the past five years, demand for data analysts in New York City has grown by 50%, and demand for data analysts early in their careers, with 0-2 years of experience, has grown by 112%.[1] By 2020, there will be 2.72 million job openings for data analyst and related jobs across the U.S.[2]

In order to deliver qualified candidates for these jobs – and create opportunities for a diversity of New Yorkers to join the tech ecosystem here in NYC – TTP is inviting training providers to submit proposals for up to $700,000 to train emerging data analysts.

Proposals must be submitted by August 16th at 5 p.m. Any questions about the opportunity are due by July 19th at 5 p.m.

We welcome your submissions and look forward to working together with the winning proposer to realize Mayor de Blasio’s vision of a thriving five-borough tech ecosystem powered by homegrown talent.
