Tech Training Programs

I want to improve and expand alternate tech education opportunities for New Yorkers.

Tech Training Programs

TTP works with tech bootcamps to develop and implement key practices that expand talent pools and help graduates get hired.

These tech training programs offer accelerated training for individuals looking to kick start a career in tech. Since 2015, TTP has piloted programs aimed to deliver a broader audience into jobs.

Our talent comes from non-traditional
backgrounds and is less likely to have
completed a bachelor’s degree.

40%

of TTP bootcamp participants don’t have a bachelor’s degree.

Our talent pool is more ethnically and
racially diverse as compared to the
national average.

We have developed some key practices
to help bootcamps be more successful.

Improve Job Outcomes

Work directly with companies to meet their recruiting needs. This can include updating screening practices, changing curricula, and creating direct hiring pipelines.

Expand Student Pool

Attract more diverse individuals by increasing recruiting partners, understanding applicants’ needs, and offering student support.

Real World Experience

Increasing project-based work, internships, and on-the-job learning experiences help students prepare for their next role.

Did you know?

As of 2017, New York City has 30+ tech bootcamps, the largest number in the United States, followed by San Francisco that has 14.

Fullstack Academy

When we worked with Fullstack Academy to scale a program to deliver New Yorkers into data analysis jobs, we reached out to NYC tech employers to identify key non-tech essential skills they were looking for. Fullstack Academy adjusted their application process and curriculum based on our insights, setting up their candidates for better success.

YDI

We engaged the Youth Development Institute (YDI) to provide supportive services to its students. With a background in youth-specific coaching needs and on-site immersion in the course, the YDI Youth Coach developed targeted interventions that helped students to manage stressors to complete the training and land their first job.

Foursquare

Flatiron School student Sebastian thrived at coursework, but lacked the professional experience to attest to his skill on the job. The Flatiron School connected Sebastian to an internship at Foursquare. Sebastian gained experience in a tech workplace and demonstrated his ability so effectively that his employer offered him a full-time role as a software engineer.
